Lee County Solid Waste Suspends Monday Residential Garbage Collection
Lee County has suspended residential garbage, yard waste and recycling collection on Monday, Nov. 9, because of winds anticipated from Tropical Storm Eta.
Regular household collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Monday’s collections will be picked up Tuesday, Tuesday’s collections will be picked up Wednesday and so on through Saturday. (Collections will occur on Veterans Day.)
The county asks residents to remove anything outside their homes that could blow away during the storm, including garbage cans, lids and recycle carts. Store them inside.
All Lee County disposal facilities will be open regular hours on Monday.
The county encourages residents to monitor the storm through media outlets, the Lee County Government Facebook page and www.leegov.com. For Solid Waste collection questions, call 239-533- 8000.
