Sanibel City Council Votes to Lift Ban on Hotels, Motels & Timeshares on May 16
The Sanibel City Council has voted to lift the ban on hotels, motels and timeshares on Saturday, May 16. They will be allowed to reopen at 50% capacity with restrictions. Short-term vacation rentals are still banned. Rentals 30 days and more will allow to open. Guests from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Louisiana and Miami-Dade & Broward counties will be banned. Face masks will be mandatory for all restaurant, hotels, and retail staff. It is only recommended for guests.
Beach parking remains closed until the end of the month. Parking fines jumped from $50 to $200.
